of a formula, known as the average information formula, by which computer programmers can program images, videos and other source data to computer memory to the finest level of detail and with the fewest possible zeros and ones. The same thing happens when you put the top view of the graphic in your peripheral vision while looking at the target image: your mind quickly codes it to your memory with the fewest possible zeros and ones.

The following instructions are to help you fully experience a video of a babbling brook and surrounding nature, aided by the Mandala, on a computer with an internet connection. In the process they are to show you how to use the Mandala with images and instill the image of the Mandala in memory so you may easily visualize it in other applications, where it may be too awkward to have the actual Mandala present. In so doing you will be comparing the effectiveness of normal consciousness, consciousness after meditation, and consciousness after meditation with the aid of the mandala by the length of time after each the babbling brook video is able to maintain your interest.

Viewing with Normal Consciousness
  1. Click on this, Babbling Brook, to bring up its video.
  2. Expand its image to full screen by hovering the cursor over its lower right corner and clicking on the broken square that appears
  3. View the Babbling Brook video in all modalities -- with and without sound, animated and freeze frame -- until you lose interest in viewing all.

Viewing after Meditation
  1. Now find a quiet, comfortable spot and relax to clear your mind by, say, noticing your breath going in and out, for at least 15 minutes. This step is most important the first time you use the Mandala
  2. View the Babbling Brook video again in all modalities until you lose interest

Bringing the Mandala into Consciousness
  1. Now click on this, Mandala of Inspiration, to bring up its image
  2. View the Mandala until you lose interest

Positioning the Mandala Window to the Left of This Window for the Babbling Brook Video
  1. Copy the Mandala of Inspiration's web address into the address field of a new tab and press return
  2. Return to this window and click on the overlapping squares in the upper right corner of this screen, so as to
  3. Click on and drag the borders of this window until it fills the right 3/4 of the screen.
  4. Click and hold the tab of the Mandala window while dragging it to the left until its left border is at the left border of the computer screen.
  5. Click hold and drag the Mandala window's other borders until it fills the left quarter of the computer screen

Viewing the Babbling Brook Video with the Mandala
  1. Click on this, Babbling Brook, and view it with the Mandala on the left in your peripheral vision.. Within about 10 seconds you may notice a continuing interplay of colors, shapes, shading, depths and textures, as they become richer in detail
  2. . Eventually your memory of the Mandala becomes more effective in viewing the video than the Mandala itself, which, therefore, becomes a distraction. So, cover its window by hovering the cursor over the lower right corner of the Babbling Brook image and clicking on the broken-square symbol that appears to expand its image to full screen
  3. On the other hand, when the image of the Mandala in your mind begins to fade and no longer effective, reduce the size of the Babbling Brook window by pressing escape to bring the Mandala window back into your peripheral vision, and your interest in the video may be renewed
  4. Continue alternating between viewing the Babbling Brook with and without the Mandala and also between sound and no sound, animation and no animation, until you lose interest in all modalities

Instilling the Mandala in the Mind
  1. Use the "Viewing with the Mandala" procedures again with other babbling brook videos below the current one or with scenes that interest you from, say, the Images for success page or the www.flickr.com photos website
  2. After using the Mandala with a couple of images in this way, it may become resident in your working memory, for, perhaps, 24 hours. During this period you may note a charmed sense of wholeness, facility and well being in your activities not here-to-fore experienced
  3. While cooking, talking, playing sports, making love, acting, being sick, reading, doing yoga, singing, etc., visualize the Mandala when you feel the need to be more inspired in their doing (but not until, to provide an impetus for activating the Mandala).
  4. Benefits of the Mandala fade with memory of it in about 24 hours. To retrieve them, repeat the steps for Viewing with the Mandala
